Promoting the well-being of the aged The Central Union for the Welfare of the Aged was founded in 1949. The Union is a national umbrella organization for 350 associations working for the benefit of the aged. Our members include associations providing services and organizations offering versatile volunteer activities. The guiding principle of the Union is to promote the welfare and social security of the aged. Another important task is to support the activities of the member associations. The Central Union for the Welfare of the Aged receives substantial funding from the Finnish Slot Machine Association. The values and vision of the Union Respect We work to support a society which respects the human worth of the aged and values care for the elderly. Trust and responsibility We are a reliable and trustworthy partner to all our interest groups. Expertise We are an active, dynamic and well-known centre of expertise of care for the aged in Finland. The Central Union for the Welfare of the Aged is a knowledgeable, humane and efficient organization that helps the aged make better use of their resources at the national, regional and local levels. Home help for the aged VTKL-palvelut Oy offers versatile domestic services and visiting nurses for the aged and handicapped in the metropolitan area. Domestic services include e.g. assistance with daily chores, cooking, washing clothes and cleaning up. VTKL-palvelut Oy is owned by the Central Union for the Welfare of the Aged. Read more
